G.O.B.A.C. INC -GIVE OUR BABIES A CHANCE
A 501 (c) 3 Non profit organization focused on children of color whose parents are incarcerated
G.O.B.A.C. Inc.,a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, is the brainchild of husband and wife team Walker Davis Jr & Traci Davis also known as Istafa and Jamilah Alamin.
Walker is an incarcerated father of 3 children who realized that the pain and suffering children like his own were going through was an issue that must be addressed. Traci, a widower and also a mother of 3, realized that the stress of losing a spouse to death suddenly has many adverse effects on children. Despite the difference in need and cause, the need to eliminate that pain and suffering was the same. Their vision was to create a network that addressed both of their situations.
Our objective is not only to eliminate that pain and suffering from those children and the other family members affected, it's also, to assist in the restoration of the domestic threads such as family, self-esteem, hopefulness and a variety of other domestic threads that are so commonly unraveled when children lose parents or guardians to any tragedy. For the needs of these children was and continues to be a domestic issue that has been overlooked for years despite the devastating effects nationwide. The objective is to put in place a non-commercial entity to assist those less fortunate children so that their young lives are not neglected due to commercial cost.
Our goal is to help these children develop into healthy men and women, both mentally and emotionally stable sons and daughters, equipped to overcome and combat any of the negative experiences or domestic obstacles that usually plague those at-risk youth.
Our goal also is to create a safe healthy environment and atmosphere controlled and conducive to facilitating healthy relationships with those parents or guardians incarcerated. (So long as it is in the best interest of the child to do so).
G.O.B.A.C. is focused on the elimination of mass incarceration and the long term domestic effects. G.O.B.A.C. is also in support of Justice Reform and public safety programs that offer domestic solutions to those affected by incarceration.
As for those who have lost parents or
guardians due to a TRAGIC EVENT, our goal is to offer opportunities for mental and emotional healing and
development, so they too can look forward to and be hopeful about living a quality lifestyle despite their unique circumstances.
As G.O.B.A.C., we hope that through the drawing of experiences from the many different programs, events, workshops, and volunteers that we can help these children and their families develop into positive, hopeful human beings that can contribute to a stronger healthier community and
reduce the statistics and outrageous domestic effects that usually occur to these at-risk youth's unique circumstances.
